PCDA DI

Dear Friends,

PCDA begins the year with tremendous gratitude for the many donors who contributed to our end of year appeal, and for the many toys that were so generously donated to our boxes around town over the holidays. Now, we start 2018 with fresh energy and enthusiasm as we continue to learn together as a team of professionals and share in the journey of children and families. I invite you to share in the many events this year, including our Open House, parent socilas and a PCDA Family Picnic! Please let us know if you would like to help or have questions or suggestions for us! We look forward to celebrating your child's progress this year!

Sincerely,

Dr. Diane

“Participating in The NoteAbles choir has been such a positive experience for Sara! She really enjoyed performing, and we are very grateful for the opportunity for Sara to discover an extracurricular activity she enjoys as much as her weekly social skills group.” -Sara’s mom, Grace

2017 DI of the Year: Gwynne Jacklitch-Humphrey

We are pleased to select Gwynne Jacklitch-Humphrey as our 2017 Developmental Interventionist (DI) of the Year. Gwynne has been with PCDA for thirteen years and is one of our Mentor DIs, providing encouragement and feedback for our newer staff. Her colleagues appreciate her hard work and dedication, as well as the support she provides to clients and families in several of PCDA’s programs. Congratulations on this honor, Gwynne!

We are proud to welcome two new members to PCDA's

Book of the Month

The Five of Us
by Sir Quentin Blake

The Five of Us is a captivating tale of adventure, friendship and teamwork. The five friends each have a disability. As disaster strikes on a day out in the countryside, they are able to overcome it by working together.
Ideal for children ages 3-7.

Nutrient of the Month:
Vitamin B5

Vitamin B5, known as pantothenic acid, is an important nutrient that helps the body turn food into energy. It is also very important for healthy liver function and breaking down fats in food. Foods rich in vitamin B5 include mushrooms, avocado, dairy products, meats, fish, sunflower seeds, whole grains and legumes. This recipe is full of B5 and is a recipe your family will love! You can put it in the slow cooker and forget about it until it’s time to eat.
